Busy executive during last year, 2018-2019 was a great rebuilt season for the Lady Flags. Lots of plans already started for next year.We held try it skates possibly with 28 new girls for next year. Girls ages 2-4 will be in instructional and girls ages 5-6 will be in initiation.

2019 Season Team Prospects

  • 2 Novice (will transition to  full ice Jan 15, 2020)
  • 3 Atom (B,C & HL)
  • 1 Peewee (possibly 2)
  • 1 Bantam
  • 1 midget

Goal is to have 2 teams at every level.

Registrar - Erin Hogan

  • 48 Girls registered last year
  • Novice C & Atom B/C went to Provincials 
  • Registration will close for the 2019/2020 season May 31st
  • 7 players registered for next season
  • 15 registered on try out list
  • Register ASAP and send payment via e-transfer to registrar
  • Tryout fee for next season to be paid prior to tryouts by e-transfer
  • New team and bench staff will need to submit level registration to registrar ASAP

Treasurer - Andrea Lane
  • $71, 274.00 income
  • $53, 618.00 expences
  • Ending the season on a very positive note
  • 1 outstanding ice bill

Director of Communications - Kaylen Burgess

  • Brief description of role, communicates information to Mooretown Lady Flags members and manages Lady Flags website

Ref and Ice Coordinator - Kara Dewhirst

  • Brief Description on how year went, built a good relationship with Head Ref.
  • Has some great ideas how to implement fair ice for next season.

Fundraising Coordinator - Erin Nesbit 

  • Poinsettas, Cookie Dough & chuck a puck were all sucessful this season.
  • Bingo: all grandparents volunteering to run these,  would be nice to get some new faces to train and help out.

Director of Player / Coach Development - Jason Nesbit

  • TPH, PEP, Future Goalie Pro all in talks about holding clinics in August.
  • All teams had great stats and built their skills this past season.
  • Novice C & Atom B/C went to Provincials finishing 4th in the province.

Sponsorship Coordinator
- Marilyn Maoirat

  • All 4 teams had jersey sponsors this past season.
  • 2019 /  2020 packages ready to go out in May.
  • Donations from Friends in Hockey, Antonios and Captain Kidd Days.

WOGHL Rep - Bryan Jeffrey

  •  We will only be doing WOGHL and Lower Lakes in the future.
  • Brian and Kevin looking into starting a local league for younger teams, Sarnia, Mooretown, Petrolia, Wallaceburg & Chatham.

Vice President - Missi Routley

  • Arena Update the board has met with all parties and have agreed to look into B3 design, which would include new NHL rink where parking lot is, Rink 1 now would become rink 2, and rink 2 would become an off ice training area and a new pool would be done. Cost of this project is $35 000 000.00 and the committee has started looking into fundraising and gants. The committee will get together in 4 months and get more info

    • Motion to accept above changes by Missi Routley, seconded by Jason Nesbit

    • All in favour - Passed

    • Meeting adjourned at 6:57PM
