The Mooretown Lady Flags Girls Hockey Association has been made aware of scam emails circulating to members of our association. These emails falsely appear to come from Board Members and may ask you to purchase gift cards, send money, or provide personal information.
⚠️ Please remember: A Board Member will NEVER send you a personal email requesting gift cards, financial transactions, or sensitive personal information. Scammers often pose as trusted individuals or organizations to deceive people and gain access to money or private data. Your safety and security are extremely important to us, so please be cautious.
Here are a few quick tips to help you identify and avoid email scams:
🔹 Double-check the sender’s email address. If it looks suspicious or doesn’t match our official contact info, don’t respond.
🔹 Be wary of urgent requests. Scammers often create a false sense of urgency to pressure you into acting quickly.
🔹 Do not click on suspicious links or download unexpected attachments. They could contain malware or lead to phishing sites.
🔹 Never provide personal or financial information over email. Legitimate organizations will not ask for sensitive data this way.
🔹 When in doubt, contact us directly. If you’re unsure about an email, reach out to a Board Member through official channels before taking any action. We take these matters seriously and appreciate your vigilance in helping protect our community.
