Face Off For Mental Health .... The Lady Flags are Going GREEN!
Submitted By kaylen on Wed 11 13, 19
The Mooretown Lady Flags have teamed up with St. Clair Child & Youth Services in support of the "Face Off For Mental Health" campaign among hockey associations across Sarnia-Lambton.

We are participating in this important county wide campaign to raise awareness of mental health issues for children and youth.

We are so proud of our girls for embracing this initiative over the past two seasons and we are happy to support it again in year three!

It is a fact that 1 in 5 children are struggling with a mental health issue.  That is one player on every line, approximately 3-4 players on any given team from Instructional to Juvenile.

So here is what we are going to do ..... November is Mental Health Awareness Month at MTMHA!

We have chosen the weekend of November 30th in conjunction with The Flags and MTMHA to wrap our sticks in green in support of Mental Health Awareness at our arena & in our community. This will serve as a visual reminder for our players, coaches, fans and executive. If any players want to wear green laces in November this would also be great.

By starting this conversation within our arena, it will help raise awareness and stop the stigma surrounding mental health.    All teams across the organization from Instructional to Juvenile will be asked to take part in this. The green tape will be supplied and distributed to coaches prior to the 30th.

Thank you for your participation in this event!

Let's get the conversation started!
